- Total Multivalent Hardness: (32.5+20) =52.5 mg/L total hardness – for comparison: soft water is usually categorized as less then 50mg/L – Moderately “hard” 50-150mg/L – and Hard is above 150mg/L. Typical values for Utah range from 180 to 240 mg/L so we have unusually soft water here in Wolf Creek.
Based on the above, while water softening is a personal preference, it wouldn’t normally be considered necessary for the Wolf Creek Water District.
